GOLDEN CHOIR
The Keithelmanbi Baptist Church (TBA) has celebrated the 50th year of Church Foundation Day as Golden Jubilee on the 17th of April 1999 with merriment and thanksgiving unto the Almighty God, The Rock of Ages. A Choir was set up by the Church to enthrall the audience and lead the congregation in singspiration and other related special numbers during the Golden Jubilee celebration. The Church has also celebrated the Christmas of 1999 as Golden Christmas to mark the Golden Jubilee year. As days and months rolled by, the world’s eagerly awaited New Year 2000 has approached with no sign of tragedy.
To commemorate the Golden Jubilee celebration, the Choir set up by the Church has been renamed as ‘Golden Choir’. Further, the Golden Choir may get its name changed to Platinum Choir, if God willing and the Church celebrate the 75th year of Church foundation as Platinum Jubilee. To outreach God’s message to mankind, the Golden Choir telecasted hymns and special numbers for the first time at DDK, Imphal on the 24th August 2000 and later on, that very day has been chosen for its Foundation Day. Hence, the 15th year of foundation day celebration has been counted from August 24th 2000. The Golden Choir has presented and telecasted songs through DDK, Guwahati and at the 107th Assembly cum Centenary celebration of Baptist Churches of Mizoram (BCM), Ao Baptist Church-Kohima, KBA Church-Kohima, Kuki Worship Service-Shillong (KWS-S), Mao Baptist Church, Tadubi Baptist Church, Town Church-Tamenglong, Rongmei Baptist Church and Liangmei Baptist Church and so on and so forth. The Golden Choir has also visited the neighbouring churches, viz. Kangpokpi Centre Church (KBC), Haipi Baptist Church (TBA), Tumnokpokpi Baptist Church (TNBA), Motbung Baptist Church (TBA), Centre Church-Sapormaina (KBC), Kangpokpi Christian Church (KCC), Keithelmanbi Solam Baptist Church (KBC), BBC-Keithelmanbi etc.
Apart from Church visits, Radio and Television Recordings etc. the Choir has also used Visual Albums as a means to spread God’s word by recording Visual Albums. Till date, the Choir has released 7 Volumes of Visual Albums titled KIPANA KHOPI (Volume I-VII) composed by well known lyricist of the area through the support and sponsorship of dedicated believers.
